Celebrating NM’s Children and Youth Days

Today, January 24th was early childhood day at the roundhouse.  There was a lot of support today, and bus loads of parents!!  It was great to see all of the “Paper Kids Project” kids all around the rotunda and behind the booths.  We had a full day, including the “Invest in Kids Now” rally outside in the snow and a very informative training from Bill Jordan !!  Our very own Barbara Luna-Tedrow and board member elect, Jaime Tamez spoke at the rally where kids crowded the front of the stage braving the cold weather to yell, “Invest in kids, NOW!!!”  We walked around the roundhouse delivering postcards which we will be e-mailing out in the next few days to the e-mail list.

Monday, January 31st, 1:3o House Appropriations

These are money hearings and we definitely need money!!  Please bring people willing to speak personally about the hardships they have faced with childcare cuts or the hardships they will face if we lose subsidies above 100%!!  They SHOULD ask for testimony!!
